Short Biography
Prof. Dr. med. Maria Wertli Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at Kantonsspital Baden and Titular Professor of General Internal Medicine at the University of Bern. After completing her medical studies and graduating magna cum laude from the University of Zurich, she obtained board certification in Internal Medicine (FMH), a CAS in Health Sciences (ZHAW) and a PhD in Health Sciences from Maastricht University. Here research focuses on the prevention of chronic pain, health services research, and quality improvement. Since 2015, she is a lecturer at the University of Zurich and since 2015, she has been a senior physician and research group leader at the Department of General Internal Medicine at Inselspital Bern and holds the Venia Docendi from both the University of Zurich and the University of Bern.
