COMBACTE-MAGNET (Combatting Bacterial Resistance in Europe – Molecules against Gram-Negative Infections), a project of the Institutes for Innovative Medicines (IMI) antimicrobial resistance research program New Drugs 4 Bad Bugs (ND4BB) launched this month. The seven-year, €167million project brings together 33 academic and 5 pharmaceutical partners in a collaboration to prevent and treat infections caused by multi-drug resistant bacteria, which are responsible for approximately 25,000 deaths in the EU each year. Professor Leonhard Held leads the EBPI team participating in this project.
