EBPI researchers Thomas Radtke and Susi Kriemler contributed to a paper published in the prestigious American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. This international, multi-centre study conducted across 10 specialised centres in Australia, Europe and North America found that cardiopulmonary exercise testing provides additional prognostic information to established predictors of death and/or lung transplantation in cystic fibrosis. Cluster analysis identified a high risk group characterised by poor lung function, exercise capacity and nutritional status
- a group of patients that may especially benefit from regular monitoring of
exercise capacity and exercise counselling.
