On 03 November 2017, Andrea Farnham successfully defended her doctoral
thesis entitled, "Innovation in Travel Medicine Using Mobile Technology:
the TOURIST Study," supervised by Christoph Hatz and Milo Puhan.
The TOURIST study is an mHealth travel medicine project using a smartphone application to collect detailed data on health and environment during travel.
The objective was to use data driven analysis techniques to predict patterns in
health outcomes and behaviors during travel. Andrea will begin a postdoc at Swiss TPH in December on the HIA4SD Project, an SNF funded project investigating the relationship between natural resource extraction projects and health in 4 African countries.
Congratulations Andrea and all the best for your private and professional future!
