Established in 1997, and based at the EBPI since 2000, AMIS Plus (Acute Myocardial Infarction in Switzerland) is a project that collects and analyzes information on all stages of myocardial infarction (commonly known as heart attack) in Switzerland. The longstanding national registry represents a collaboration between Swiss hospitals of all sizes, each of which contributes relevant data from participating patients – from pre-admission to hospitalization to follow-up. Data collected benefits research focusing on risk factors, diagnostic indicators, urgent therapy strategies, treatment and outcome. The resulting policy, clinical guidelines, and insights into specific patient groups ultimately strengthen the health of Swiss cardiac patients. Dr. Dragana Radovanovic, MD leads the AMIS Plus team that contributes to the research area of Population Health at the EBPI. We congratulate the entire team upon the achievement of this important milestone.
