Joanne Lacy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Sheffield and completed her Master’s degree in Control of Infectious Diseases at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in 2018. She worked at Public Health England and its successor UKHSA until 2022 on the surveillance of vaccine preventable diseases and she also contributed to COVID-19 pandemic surveillance. From January until September 2022 she worked as a strategic health technical officer UNV at the World Health Organization in Sao Tome and Principe. In October 2022, she joined the PhD programme at the Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention Institute under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Milo Puhan. Her doctoral research will focus on informing the management of the pandemic through large-scale epidemiological research through the analysis of data through existing coronavirus cohort studies and new studies.
