Biostatistics is the science of analyzing and interpreting biomedical data. Scientific challenges from clinical and biological research require the development and competent application of novel statistical methodology.
The UZH Master’s Program in Biostatistics is a specialized Master’s program at the Faculty of Science. Students from all disciplines with a pronounced affinity for quantitative techniques and interest in acquiring state-of-the-art problem solving skills may apply. For example, it is a useful and direct continuation of a bachelor degree in Biology, Biomedicine, Psychology, Mathematics, Medicine, or a related discipline. Students are trained to master the complex data challenges of biomedicine using state-of-the-art statistical tools.
The 90 credit point, English language program is provided by the Department of Biostatistics of the EBPI and offers the only - to date - specialized program for the training of biostatisticians in Switzerland.
