This study focusses on typically developing preschool children that may profit of an intervention aiming at increasing fundamental movement skills. We are especially interested to test whether younger children may profit more than older children which would request even earler Public Health interventions. As efficacy has never been tested in Switzerland, we run a pilot project to test feasibility and define the sample size needed.

Improving children’s overall health is a major goal for researchers, practitioners and policy makers. Health includes psychological and physiological health and can be summarized as the child’s thinking, feeling, behaving, eating, growing, and moving in an optimal way, particularly under challenging conditions. In today’s modern environment, stress and lack of physical activity (PA) are thought to represent two significant health challenges, but prospective evidence for young children is scarce. The overall goal of this interdisciplinary project is to study how stress (as a potentially health challenging predictor) and/or PA (as a potentially health promoting predictor) influence children’s psychological and physiological health.
